Monarch Madness on The Fennessey Ranch

More than 300 students searched for monarch butterflies as part of the Fennessey Ranch's Sixth Annual Monarch Madness event on October 24th.  Fifth and sixth graders from Woodsboro, Refugio,Port O'Connor, Austwell-Tivoli, Point Comfort, and Seashore Intermediate School participated in various activities while learning about local wildlife and habitats, thanks to sponsorship from the University of Houston TLC2.  CBWPC activities included playing Wildlife Trivia Challenge, and everyone was a winner!

Devon Energy Goes Wild in Agua Dulce

We had a great time at the Agua Dulce Elementary School's Kritters 4 Kids presentation on September 19th.  Our sponsors from Devon Energy joined us at this very special presentation.  The entire fourth grade enjoyed meeting Anselmo Rodriquez, Amanda Pendegrass, and Taylor Luskey all from Devon Energy.

"Devon Energy is proud to support Agua Dulce Elementary School and the Kritters 4 Kids program, which incorporates experiential learning and also gives children the opportunity to interact and better understand the natural environment," said Amanda Pendegrass, Devon public affairs specialist.  Devon Energy Corporation is an Oklahoma City-based independent energy company engaged in oil and gas exploration and production. Devon is the largest U.S.-based independent oil and gas producer and is included in the S&P 500 Index. For additional information, visit http://www.devonenergy.com.

After the presentation,  everyone enjoyed punch and cookies!

For the Kids...

At this year's Wildlife in Focus Book Dedication Party we decided to direct the fundraising portion to the kiddos of the community.  The challenge was to have each person in the room purchase one book to donate to our local schools through Kritters 4 Kids.  We had a wonderful response, raising enough money to donate 166 books to our local schools. That's 6 schools!

If you would like to donate to our Kritters 4 Kids program, just give us a call and pledge your donation by December 31, 2008.  We still need 9 books to complete a 7th school donation from this fundraiser.  Remember these donations are tax deductible.
