Cash Prizes

Awards

$90,600 in cash will be awarded as prizes. Prize money will be split equally between winning landowners and photographers in all Classes as noted below:

Grand Prizes will be awarded to the photographer-landowner teams that accumulate the most money from all Classes and divisions./p>

$21,000 in Grand Prizes:

  • 1st Place receives $6,000
  • 2nd Place receives $5,000
  • 3rd Place receives $4,000
  • 4th Place receives $3,000
  • 5th Place receives $2,000
  • 6th Place receives $1,000

$6,000 in Division Prizes First, Second, and Third place in each of the five (5) divisions pays:

  • 1st Place receives $500
  • 2nd Place receives $400
  • 3rd Place receives $300

$63,600 in Class Prizes - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each of the fifty three (53) classes pays:

  • 1st Place receives $500
  • 2nd Place receives $400
  • 3rd Place receives $300

Prize money will be split equally between winning Team members. The CBWPC will distribute checks to the Photographer and Landowner of each winning Team. The CBWPC reserves the right to not publish or display any images deemed inappropriate or of poor image quality. The final monetary figures are subject to change at the discretion of the Board of CBWPC.


Photographer’s Information

Eligibility

During the host years (2007-2008) of the Images for Conservation Fund (ICF) photographers may only compete in one of the two above mentioned photo contest.

All photographers, professional or amateur, of any age are eligible to compete in the 2007 contest. Photographers may enter individually or with one other person under one entry fee. The team is limited to three slides per entered class and both names must be listed on the entry forms. References to "photographer" mean a single, or a two photographer team. **The Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest must be notified in writing of any teams -landowner or photographer - before January 15, 2007.

Location

Private land registered in the contest in the fourteen county area of the Coastal Bend of Texas: Aransas, Bee, Calhoun, Dewitt, Duval, Goliad, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio and Victoria.

When

Registration takes place from January 1, 2006 through January 31, 2007.

Photographs are to be taken February 1 through June 30, 2007. Submissions will be due July 13, 2007. Paid entries and registrations by both photographer and landowner must be received by January 31, 2007unless otherwise noted by the Photo Contest. The CBWPC has the right to extend the deadline at its discretion. Entries are limited to photographers and landowners with paid entry fees.

Submission Requirements

All entries must be high-resolution digital images. Submissions shall be full frame only with no cropping. Slide photographers must scan slides to be entered as digital images on a CD. Rules of acceptable digital manipulation apply to all photos. Rules will be sent to each participant after receiving registration form and fee.

The CBWPC has in place a procedure of double-blind judging that should help to ensure the integrity of the contest. Submission requirements attempt to ensure that there should be no way to identify an image as to photographer or landowner. It is important that all entries follow these instructions. Complete and final submission instructions will be sent to each photographer before June 1, 2007.

Reptiles & Amphibians- 5 classes
Special Classes- 11 classes


Landowner’s Information

Eligibility

Land Use

Landowners will establish the requirements of photographers who contact them regarding access to the land. Landowners establish the rules of conduct on their premises and may require photographers to sign a release form and show proof of personal liability insurance before allowing access to the land.

The Landowner/Photographer Team

Landowners enter the contest with land, habitat, and wildlife, making them an equal partner in the venture. The photographer will take all photos and select which ones will be submitted into the contest. Landowners who actively participate with their photographers and have the most diverse habitat have the best chance of winning.
